The
Smooth Moves
program, serving attorneys of color, has become a flagship event of NYSBA and the Commercial & Federal Litigation Section, together with many co-sponsoring Sections.
This year's CLE program is entitled, "
The Obama Administration's Call to Service - One Year Later: Perspectives on Growth Opportunities for Attorneys of Color in the Public and Private Sectors
."
At the gala networking reception following the program, the Honorable George Bundy Smith Pioneer Award will be presented to NYSBA Executive Committee member Glenn Lau-Kee and his father, the renowned lawyer Norman Lau-Kee, who has served the legal and community needs of the Chinatown community with distinction for several decades. The Commercial Division Minority Law Student Fellowship also will be presented by the New York Bar Foundation to a first year law student of color. The Fellowship provides a valuable clerkship opportunity, as well as a cost of living stipend, in the Commercial Division of New York County Supreme Court during the summer of 2010.
Thanks to the generosity of our co-sponsoring Sections and law firms, this program is a free event, although we ask that you register in advance (see below to register online) so that we may make the necessary arrangements.
