PALS is pleased to once again provide this program to minority summer associates and interns. Writing is a critical element of attorney development and we encourage minority law students to take advantage of this opportunity.  

This interactive program created for interns and summer associates teaches specific strategies for writing clear, concise legal documents, whether briefs, memos, letters or emails. Through examples and exercises, participants learn to eliminate common writing weaknesses on four levels: document organization, paragraph construction, sentence structure, and word choice.  

Writing for Lawyers is taught by Dianne Rosky, a writing consultant to law firms, public interest organizations, and government agencies. Until 2003, Ms. Rosky taught legal writing at New York University School of Law. Before joining the NYU faculty, she was a litigation associate at Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison and at Sullivan & Cromwell, where she was also a Pro Bono Fellow. Dianne is a 1994 graduate of Harvard Law School, where she was an Editor of the Harvard Law Review. She clerked for the Honorable Robert W. Sweet of the Southern District of New York.
